Sounds a very low mark to me given all the positives in the first half of the dissertation Icanonlytry - I know nothing about education research so I could be way off but in science (which is my field) I would be surprised if anyone was marked so low if a large proportion of the dissertation was fine and up to the expected standard.I was talking to my supervisor yesterday, and he says that they are more stingy with the grades they give dissertations. I'm interested in what the average dissertation grade is. It would also be interesting to know if your dissertation grade was lower, higher, or more-or-less the same as your other marks.Don’t lead yourself into believing that not making use of your 10,000 word limit and producing a much shorter dissertation is going to be welcomed, because it’s going to take less time to mark. You need to use up your word limit to show the depth and thoroughness that your dissertation requires.
